What were we doing?
This term Y5/6 have been lucky enough to be receiving science lessons from Mrs Hoskins who teaches at Ripon Grammar School.
They've been learning about 'sound'.
The UCI cycle race came through Yorkshire. We had a mini cycling competition in the playground and recorded our results on a graph, and shared this in our Friday Sharing Assembly with parents.
Maths
We have been learning how to use Roman Numerals. They are very different to the way we count today.

What do the pupils say?
Mrs Hoskins makes the lessons fun - and we learn lots! - Eli Y6
We do lots of practical experiments - Boo Y5
We all got more than one turn on the bikes. We did 20 laps around the course and also did a timed distance. It was fun! - Adam Y5
I wanted to find out how the Romans wrote really big numbers becasue they only have symbols for 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000.
We looked on the internet to find out...
The Romans put 'bars' over the symbols which means that you multiple the letter by 1,000. - Adam Y5
